Luger mechanical features - a book about the device of the famous pistol Georg Luger "Parabellum". The book contains a lot of illustrations - drawings and diagrams of the device and the principle of operation of the pistol and high-quality close-up photos. One of the most charismatic and extraordinary self-loading pistols, the Parabellum was created as a result of the desire to obtain a powerful, reasonably compact and reliable personal weapon that fires smokeless powder cartridges. The pistol was created by the talented designer Georg Luger in 1898 based on the design of Hugo Borchardt C93. Luger greatly simplified Borchardt's design. He moved the return spring from the back of the frame to the handle, which he made with a large angle of inclination. When folding, the levers now rested not on the lamellar return spring, but on the body of the receiver. As a result of these changes and improvements, a much more compact and convenient pistol appeared. Luger also created his own 7.65x22 cartridge. The result was an excellent weapon-cartridge complex, which was distinguished by its compactness, convenience, quality, reliability and accuracy. The pistol was produced with various barrel lengths in calibers 7.65 and 9mm, in 1908 it was adopted in Germany as the P.08 Parabellum. The workmanship was very high and by modern standards can be considered a reference.
