The Queen Elisabeth class offers the greatest possible sсоре for both textual and visual treatment, and we hope readers will agree that we have provided the correct balance within this volume. With a history dating from the inception of the class in 1912 and service in the first World War, and involving as it does a representative picture of the changes and developments in battleship design and construction of the inter-war years, a wealth of material has accrued which makes selection a difficult task.
